St. Dominic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in the Diocese of Youngstown, Ohio. Served by the Dominican friars of the Province of St. Joseph our parish is a center of liturgy, preaching, and concern for Truth, made manifest in our worship of the one, true God through the mediation of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, in the love of the Holy Spirit.
The history of the Catholic Church in northeastern Ohio takes us back to the year 1816, and the Dominican Order has played an important part since the beginning. Fr. Edward Dominic Fenwick, O.P., the founder of the first American Dominican province, and later the first bishop of Cincinnati, traveled to central Kentucky from Canton, Youngstown, Canal Fulton and the surrounding territory, serving the needs of the Catholic settlers in the area.

The architectural style of the parish church is modernized Romanesque. This is characterized by the use of the rounded semi-circular arch. In addition, a refined. Gothic style is used with modifications to blend into a completely modern church.

The Dominican Friars who staff St. Dominic Parish are members of a religious order called the Order of Preachers. Known for their intellectual tradition and preaching they have served the Church for eight hundred years since their founding by St. Dominic de Guzman in 1216.
